You Are A Vine

From the book “A Fragment Of God”
Written by Rev. Oyenike Areogun
Psalm 128:3
“Thy wife shall be as a fruitful vine by the sides of thine house: thy children like olive plants round about thy table.”
John 15:1
“I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman.”
Don’t forget that the heart of this book is intended to show to you that you are a fragment of God, and I have been showing you certain attributes of God that the Bible clearly uses to describe the woman. I remember mentioning that your destiny will undoubtedly take a new turn when you see yourself in the light of these attributes. You will not define yourself by what the world says about you or what the devil says about you.
When you know that you are a fragment of God, you know also that you are ordained to generate God-kind of results in life.
I wish to present to you another fragment of God that you are…YOU ARE A VINE. One major thing the vine does is that it produces wine. Let us look at these in the scripture below:
Judges 19:8-13
“The trees went forth on a time to anoint a king over them; and they said unto the olive tree, Reign thou over us. 9But the olive tree said unto them, Should I leave my fatness, wherewith by me they honour God and man, and go to be promoted over the trees? 10 And the trees said to the fig tree, Come thou, and reign over us. 11 But the fig tree said unto them, Should I forsake my sweetness, and my good fruit, and go to be promoted over the trees? 12 Then said the trees unto the vine, Come thou, and reign over us. 13 And the vine said unto them, Should I leave my wine, which cheereth God and man, and go to be promoted over the trees?”
Look at the 13th verse; what does the vine do? It cheers God and Man. Woman, you are supposed to cheer God and Man.
To cheer means to gladden, to bring joy, lighten up, delight etc., if you are married, show the light to your husband at home, gladden his heart. Don’t be his headache. When he is tired, lighten him up, make him refreshed. That is not the time to nag around the house; that is not the time to complain about the children’s school fees or the food finished in the house. Be sensitive to his moods and countenance.
When he returns home from work and carries a tired look on his face, collect his bag, loosen his tie and remove his shoes. Lead him to the bathroom and let him have a cold shower. Dry him up and put on a nice cloth on him. Give him a nice meal and feed him, and if he is not too tired to have sex, give him nice sex. When you are done with all these, ask him how the days’ job went. I am sure he would have forgotten his worries…that is how to lighten him up.
As a woman, you must learn to speak sweet words to your husband. Don’t say it is not in your nature; a human being has the capacity to learn. Go and learn it. Refreshing words bring calmness. The time he is tensed up is not the time children should be jumping around. As much as possible, make the home calm for him. When he is refreshed, everyone in the house will be refreshed. Bring joy to your husband and not worries. Look at the virtuous woman:
Proverbs 31:11-12
“The heart of her husband doth safely trust in her, so that he shall have no need of spoil. She will do him good and not evil all the days of her life.”
The Bible says she does her husband good all the days of her life. The Bible didn’t say she does him evil today and tomorrow; she does good. All the days of the life are spent doing good to her husband.
You are a vine, woman!
The vine gladdens the heart of God; that is the 2nd thing that the vine does in the light of Judges 9 that we read. Cultivate living a life of true worship unto God, a life that is sold out to the things of God.
Live to please the Lord and walk in His ways.
May you not disappoint God in the name of Jesus.
