Yielding Your Strength
Isaiah 40: 28-31 (KJV)
Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the Lord, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? there is no searching of his understanding. He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength. Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall: But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; they shall walk, and not faint.
The Scripture above makes us understand that there is a reality to getting tired and weary; it is a natural phenomenon. It is possible to get to a point where you find it difficult to pray and study the Bible. On such occasions, there is a need to consciously get your spirit renewed.
We are living in a busy generation with so many activities that can bring exhaustion, and the devil is on a mission to make Christians grow weary these last days, but you must be the person that wears the devil out and not the other way around.
For you to be able to wear out the opposition, there must be a constant renewal of your spirit that you give yourself to. Many people give up easily because there is no constant renewal of their inner man, and the devil is not going to give up soon; he wants to wear you out. These last days, it is people that have the stamina (spiritual strength) that will last.
You must make up your mind to get your strength renewed day by day. You may ask, ‘why daily? Why not weekly or monthly?’ You are fighting a 24/7 devil, you can’t afford to read your Bible once in three days, and you will be behind schedule.
A. Make Way for the Workings of God in Your Life
It is time to let God work on you so that you will yield your strength. Each day carries strength.
If you know how massive, gigantic and magnificent the things that God wants to bring out of your life are, you will be amazed. You know, one second of revelation can change the world. Just one second of your life! Out of one second, a revelation can come that will bring an end to every problem you have struggled with for 25 years.
Beloved, there is more to your life than what you can see now, you were made for so much more to make way for the workings of God in your life. Develop your inner man.
B. Feed on the Word of God Daily
There is a measure of strength that comes from feeding on the Word of God. You are what you eat. It is what you take in that determines what you become. Therefore, it is important to feed on the Word of the Bible constantly. The Bible is the meal of strength.
What are you feeding on? The problem of many Christians is not that they are not hearing the Word of God, but they are hearing other things that are competing with and fighting the truth of God’s Word in their heart. They hear from God, hear from the devil, hear from men and hear from the world. Those other voices will rise up against what God has spoken, and because God is not going to be lousy, those other things you have heard become stronger in your heart.
2 Timothy 3:16-17 (KJV)
All Scripture is given by inspiration of God and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.
The Word of God is the bread of life and it is what God is feeding His servants and His saints, so that they are able to put out what He has put inside them, bringing out the depths of divine beauty.
C. Have a Prayer Life
If you don’t have structured and daily prayer time, you don’t have a prayer life.
YOU ARE NOT STRONG UNTIL YOU FIND IT EASY TO PRAY. This is one area of STRENGTH you must develop now as those preparing for a great future. The issue with PRAYER is not first of all VOLUME or QUANTITY but CONSISTENCY in the PRESENCE OF THE FATHER. You need a strong spirit to fulfil your destiny, and you get that in the place of prayer. If your spirit is weaker than the assignment you are carrying, you will collapse one day. The devil is not interested in stopping you from attending church services but he wants to stop you from praying. He does not fear your coming to church, he fears your kneeling to pray. A Christian that does not pray is cheap for the devil to handle.
D. Get your Location Right.
The next thing that will help you yield your strength is the right location; being planted in the right place. No crop flourishes everywhere; there is no multipurpose crop or multipurpose ground. There is no crop that will do well in every ground you plant it.
Don’t let anybody deceive you; understand that there is a place that is your wealthy place. And it is God that sets the solitary in families.
Psalm 66:12 (KJV)
Thou hast caused men to ride over our heads; we went through fire and through water: but thou broughtest us out into a wealthy place.
You are the planting of the Lord. You are the Lord’s vineyard; there is a place He puts you to do well. There is a church location; there is a career location; there is a relationship location, there is where you will do well.
For some people, their problem has been the circle of friends they have found themselves. Don’t be with a group of people that will quench every bit of Christian thing in you. Those people are given to the world, they are sold out to the world, but your emotion is hooked to them. When you visit them, you come back home, and you never feel like praying. There is a right church for you where you will do well.
E. Godly Association
Anything that will do well must integrate with something bigger than itself. When you temper iron with steel, it becomes stronger. One of the things that God does for you to yield a stronger strength and bring out something higher than yourself is that He couples you with something great. He couples you with something stronger than yourself. He couples you with something that is great where you are low.
Anybody that has become great has thrown themselves into a structure that is bigger than them. You don’t become a PhD holder by going to a primary school teacher beside your house for lessons; you have to go to an institution that is strong and look for a professor that will take you through some serious things.
May your heart be moved in the direction of strength. May your heart be moved in the direction of what will maximise you and bring something great out of you in the Name of Jesus. Iron sharpeneth iron as a man sharpens the countenance of his friend.
I pray for you that every one that is bringing weakness, demotion, or backwardness will leave your life in Jesus’ Name. It is time to go to your next level in God!
Yield your Strength unto the Lord!
