TRUTHS ABOUT THE COVENANT (1)
FROM THE FATHER’S HEART
Dearly Beloved,
As we continue in the flows of God of Breakthroughs Convention and Homecoming, let me share with you briefly some truths about the covenant.
- The covenant is for crisis and contradictory times and seasons, not for normal times. It is for the time of crisis and contradictory seasons. When things are not okay, that’s when you need your covenant. That’s when you pull on the covenant and make a demand. When things are okay, you just enjoy normally, but you pull on the covenant when there is a crisis. For example, if you have a tenancy agreement with your landlord, as long as everything is okay, you don’t worry, but if anything is disturbing that situation, what do you do? You’ll pull out the agreement.
- The covenant enlarges you beyond yourself. If it’s a righteous covenant, it adds to you and multiplies you. If it’s a negative demonic covenant, it reduces you somewhere. Although on the surface, it looks like it adds to you. One of the reasons people go into covenanting either with God or the devil is this point: covenant enlarges you beyond yourself. They want something that takes them beyond themselves by adding to them or multiplying them. So when you cut a covenant with God, it will add to you and multiply you. But if it’s with the devil, it begins to divide you behind the scene; that’s what is dangerous there.
- A covenant will put obligations and responsibilities on both parties. Since this says parties, it means a single person cannot cut a covenant with himself. However, you can cut a covenant with the members of your body. The Bible tells us that Job cut a covenant with his eyes so that you can make a covenant with the members of your body. Thus, a covenant puts obligation and responsibilities on both parties.
You are blessed!
Till next time, go and win with Jesus.
