The True Family of Jesus

I want to show you the family members of Jesus Christ. Who are the true family of Jesus? The true family of Jesus comprises THOSE THAT HEAR AND DO WHAT HE SAYS.

Luke 8:18-21 KJV, “Take heed therefore how ye hear: for whosoever hath, to him shall be given; and whosoever hath not, from him shall be taken even that which he seemeth to have. Then came to him his mother and his brethren, and could not come at him for the press. And it was told him by certain which said, Thy mother and thy brethren stand without, desiring to see thee. And he answered and said unto them, My mother and my brethren are these which hear the word of God, and do it.”

These are the real family of Jesus – those that hear and do what He says. Hearing the word of God and doing it is what God puts the highest honour on. Jesus called those who hear and do the word of God “My mother and my brethren”. See the value that Jesus placed on the word of God. Jesus placed the word of God above Mary and His brothers. This may be hard for some people to believe, but that is the Word of God. So, hearing and doing what He says is what qualifies you and I to be His brothers.

Matthew 12:46-50 TPT, “While Jesus was still speaking to the crowds, his mother and brothers came and stood outside, asking for him to come out and speak with them. Then someone said, “Look, your mother and brothers are standing outside, wanting to have a word with you.” But Jesus just looked at him and said, “Let me introduce you to my true mother and brothers.” Then gesturing to the disciples gathered around him, he said, “Look closely, for this is my true family. When you obey my heavenly Father, that makes you a part of my true family.”

Are you part of the true family of Jesus? Those that hear the word of God and do it are the family members of Jesus. If all you do is to hear the word and not do it, you are not part of the true family of Jesus. Don’t belong to the group of Christians that know the word of God, but are not willing to act on it. The true family of Jesus acts on what they know.

James 1:22 KJV says, “But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.” Hearing and not doing the word will take you to the place of self-delusion. There are many self-deluded folks today in the church of God. They know the word but are not willing to act on it. Faith in God is a FACT and it is also an ACT. You must turn the fact of faith you have in your heart into an act in your life. The word of God is described as a container that contains the power of God, but when you don’t act upon the word of God, it doesn’t produce. However, the true family of Jesus are both hearers and doers of His word.

If He tells you to do something simple, will you do it? That is the simplest key to miracles, trace what you are doing to what God has said, either written in the Bible or spoken by the spirit. Check and do an audit of the activities in your life. You want healing, find out what God has said about it and start acting according to it. Be a true family member of Jesus.
