The Guide, the Two Ways and the Two Different Destinations
The day was bright and the atmosphere was sunny; it was the end of the academic session. A boy had returned from school and he is to meet his father at the family farm which is several miles away from home at an appointed day. The father had sent a guide home to bring this boy to the farm with a written description of how to get to the farm. This guide knows the father well and was very familiar with the road to the farm. The journey will take many days and the road is filled with many unpredictable situations; not to the guide who is used to them and knows them well but to the boy.
However, no sooner had this boy changed his clothes that he left for the farm alone abandoning his guide behind. What do I need the guide for? This boy questioned! He ignored his fatherly-appointed guide with the written description on how to get to the farm thinking he could sort himself out while following a road he felt would lead him to the family farm. His guide did not need the written description; the father left it with the guide for the sake of his son, and he does not want his son to fall into a wrong hand at the end of the journey. But unknown to this boy, while he indeed followed a road he believed will lead him to the farm, with great expectation of meeting his father; he had taken the wrong way! The unexpected happened; he ended up in another farm! The owner of that farm was a sworn enemy of his father who had purposed on oath to kill this boys father (if possible) or anything that comes out him.
I am sure you are amazed by the story of this boy, but really it describes a mans journey in life. Every one of us is on a journey in life whether we know it or not. The question therefore is not if you are on a journey but where will your present life journey lead you? There are either of two places the journey of life can lead you; heaven or hell. The love that God has for you and I made him to send His only begotten Son Jesus Christ to die for your sins. The Bible, which is the word of God, is that written description that shows us the way that leads to the Father God. God does not what you to end up in the hand of satan, in the wrong place of hell fire at the end of your journey in life (John 3:16, Romans 5:6, Isaiah 53:5; 1 Peter 2:24 ). About two thousand years ago, Jesus died on the cross of Calvary to take away your sins; He was buried but resurrected on the third day to give us victory over sin and death (1 Timothy 1:15; 2 Timothy 2:8). He paid the ultimate price of death for your redemption so that you will not have your portion in the lake of fire at the end of your journey in life (Rev 20:11 15; 21:8).
My friend, it is not a mistake that you are holding this tract in your hand today. God knows that a day will come that you will meet Him; either at rapture when Christ comes to take home the saints or when you die. Acts 17:31 says Because he hath appointed a day, in the which he will judge the world in righteousness by that man whom he hath ordained; whereof he hath given assurance unto all men, in that he hath raised him from the dead Hebrews 9:27 says as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment (Rev 20:11 15; 21:8). If you die today or the rapture takes place, what will be your lot? Will your journey in life end in heaven with God or in the unquenchable fires of hell which God originally prepared for satan and his angels?
Will you accept the offer of God? Will you receive the gift of salvation that He has given to you in Jesus Christ or you will neglect him like that boy neglected his guide? Oh! you think you know what you are doing? The bible says in Proverbs 16:25 that there is a way that seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death. But Jesus says in John 14:6 that I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. He is the only way that leads to God! Acts 4:12 says Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved. Romans 6:23 says that the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. Acts 3:19 says Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord.
If you will confess the Lord Jesus today and accept Him as your Lord and Saviour, your sins will be forgiven and your name will be written in the book of Life. You will receive forgiveness of sin, the gift of eternal life and be free from the condemnation of hell; you will spend your eternity with God and at the end of your journey in this life, your destination will be in heaven with God and not in hell with satan.
If you are ready to accept the Lord Jesus into your heart today, please pray this prayer NOW!
Heavenly Father, I thank you because of your love for me; thank you for sending your only begotten Son Jesus to die for my sins. Today I confess that Jesus died for me and that God raised Him up from the grave on the third day. I confess that I am a sinner and that I cannot save myself. Father, I ask that you forgive all my sins and wash me from all my sins by the blood of Jesus which was shed for me on the cross of Calvary. I receive Jesus into my heart today as my Lord and personal Saviour. I turn away from sin and satan and turn I to God. Write my name in the book of life. Thank you dear God for saving me
