RESPECT FOR DIVINE TIMING
FROM THE FATHER’S HEART
God has a deep respect for timing, and as a child of God, you must train yourself to do the same. There is a calendar of God for your life which you must understand and live by. This is because, at God’s prophetic time for your life, He shows up to initiate new things. However, the devil also targets this time to introduce mess into the life of a child of God.
David was a man anointed of God, and God Himself described him as a man after His own heart(Acts 13:22). Unfortunately, however, the devil successfully got him into a mess of murder, adultery and cover-up (2 Sam. 11). I want you to see some of the things that got David into a mess so that you can avoid them as you go on in your journey in life, and although David came out of this mess, it was not without scars (2 Sam. 12:10-14).
The first step that led David into a mess was his disrespect for divine timing. Look at
2 Samuel 11:1
It happened in the spring of the year, at the time when kings go out to battle, that David sent Joab and his servants with him, and all Israel; and they destroyed the people of Ammon and besieged Rabbah. But David remained at Jerusalem.
This was a divine time for David, but he missed it. Great men have great authority, but a mess will be inevitable when they don’t do things at the right time. Wisdom is actually 80% Time + 20% Decision. If you will be a wise man on the earth, you must be a man with an understanding of divine timing for your life (Ecc. 8:5-8). The city of Jerusalem is still in a mess today because she missed her time of visitation (Lk. 19:41-44). Not recognising divine timing could eventually lead to generational problems, as you can see in the life of David the King.
Get on your road on time and do not be a waster of time. Your life is packaged in pockets of time, and you cannot afford to waste it. Time is the basic unit of living, and wasting time is tantamount to wasting life. The Bible talks about redeeming the time for the days are evil. Anyone who wastes your time is wasting your life and wasting your most precious resource. Time is one thing that God has given equally to all men. How you spend your time and how you utilise your time is what separates men into categories. What you translate every hour of your time to is what differentiates you from other people.
Till next week, go and win with Jesus.
