Predestined For Good Works

From the Father’s Heart.

Dearly Beloved,

EPHESIANS 2:10 [AMP]

For we are God’s [own] handiwork (His workmanship), recreated in Christ Jesus, [born anew] that we may do those good works which God predestined (planned beforehand) for us [taking paths which He prepared ahead of time], that we should walk in them [living the good life which He prearranged and made ready for us to live].

The passage above tells us that there are works that God Himself predestined for you to do. He called them good works.

There are other works you are doing on this earth; you could be a medical doctor, a lecturer and so on; those are natural works. But there is a predestined work that God had ordained for you to do before you came here. Your natural work, which could be your career or business if you are not on the full-time call, is supposed to be used by the Lord to do your good works. So, if the good work that God has assigned you in life is to be a missionary, and by the career, you are a medical doctor, for example, the question will be how are you going to apply your medical profession to accomplish your missionary call? So there are good works that God predestined for you to do here on earth. Have you found those works?

There are two paths ahead of every man: a natural road you are taking and a divine road that God has mapped out for you, which is also referred to as the predestined path. It means that God set that path for you before you came here, which is what He expects you to follow. And you must know that you will never be able to do those good works except work on that road.

There was a natural road ahead of me when God called me. All my family members are in Lagos; I had the opportunity to work with petroleum companies overseas, but God set a divine road ahead of me. He instructed me to go to Ijeshaland, Osun State, Nigeria, to start my ministerial assignment there, earning ten Nigerian Naira (N10:00K) per week. That was the divine road for me. If I didn’t go, I wouldn’t have been doing what I am today; I couldn’t be any blessing to my natural family.

Many women get carried away with the devil’s lies that they are not called by God. They pursue everything in life except the program of God for their lives. Some pursue their home; their husband was their focus at the time. When they started having children, for some, it shifted to their children alone; after raising all those children all their lives, they still turned back to give them pain. All these works are okay. Taking care of your husband and children is okay, but you must understand that God has a purpose for your life beyond that. There is a divine destiny you must fulfil.

Look at what the Lord Jesus said in the book of Hebrews 10:5-7 “Wherefore when he cometh into the world, he saith, Sacrifice and offering thou wouldest not, but a body hast thou prepared me: In burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin thou hast had no pleasure. Then said I, Lo, I come (in the volume of the book it is written of me) to do thy will, O God.

Jesus came to a place that He was able to say categorically the purpose for which He came to the planet earth. He understood clearly what God has written concerning Him from eternity. Can you say that you know the will of God for your life? Do you know what God has written concerning you “in the volume of the books? “This is where your fulfilment and victory start from. So, let the Holy Spirit guide you and stop running the race of life from the natural side alone.

You are blessed.

Till next time, go and win with Jesus.

God’s Servant,

Rev. Olusola Areogun.
