PASSING THE TEST OF GOD
FROM THE FATHER’S HEART
18 But the path of the just is as the shining light, that shineth more and more unto the perfect day.
7 Though your beginning was small, yet your latter end would increase abundantly.
No one gets lifted or promoted without passing a test; it is a law of the justice of God. When it is time for you to go to another level in God, any new level of increase – financial, marital, spiritual and so on – will be preceded by tests. God allows tests to come our way because it is promotion time!
And it came to pass after these things, that God did tempt Abraham, and said unto him, Abraham: and he said, Behold, here I am.
God allowed a test because it was time for Abraham to move to the next level. So, when trials come your way, when you are tempted as it were or when tests come, it is not because God hates you. It is not so that you can stumble, but so that you can rise and change to a higher dimension of glory.
Tests are our time signal that promotion is around the corner. All you need to do is to prepare to pass the test. Students don’t conclude that the school is an oppressor because of examinations; rather, they read, pass and move on to the next level.
When tests, trials, and temptations come, let the substance of faith come out of your spirit. Then, face them, go through and emerge a winner!
1 Samuel 16:6–7
6 So it was, when they came, that he looked at Eliab and said, “Surely the Lord’s anointed is before Him!”
7 But the Lord said to Samuel, “Do not look at his appearance or at his physical stature, because I have refused him. For the Lord does not see as man sees; for man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.”
Are you failing or passing the tests of God for your life and destiny? Eliab became unqualified for what God had prepared for him. God’s plan was for any of Jesse’s sons, and Eliab was the firstborn, but God said, “I have refused him.” He had been presented and rejected. When did Eliab meet God or vice versa? It was in the instructions of Jesse, his father, to him and in the daily demands from the various levels of leadership that he’d been passing through. Can you recognize God’s tests when they come through difficult demands from leadership, the pastor’s rebuke, physical duties, simple instructions and so on?
May you recognize and pass His tests.
Do you know who God is using to test you? The person is already around you but might be the least person expected, and that is why you should behave like Christ would to everyone you meet. Jesus passed the test with Joseph and Mary at the age of 12. They complained and rebuked Him, but He submitted Himself to them (Luke 2:41-52). He didn’t call down brimstone and fire nor despised them. What will happen to you on the day of oil (anointing for promotion)? Will you be accepted or refused?
Live your life to qualify yourself on the day of oil; your future depends on it.
Till next week, go and win with Jesus.
