Is God with You?
Do you know that God’s presence is everywhere?
In the book of Psalms of the Bible, Chapter 139, verses 7 to 12, King David describes it this way;
“Where can I go from Your Spirit? Or where can I flee from Your presence? If I ascend into heaven, You are there; If I make my bed in hell, behold, You are there. If I take the wings of the morning, And dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea, Even there Your hand shall lead me, And Your right hand shall hold me. If I say, “Surely the darkness shall fall on me,” Even the night shall be light about me; Indeed, the darkness shall not hide from You, But the night shines as the day; The darkness and the light are both alike to You.”
You see, there are three levels of the presence of God;
● The Omnipresence of God which means that God is everywhere at the same time
● The Macro presence of God which is what exists when you are in a place of worship, a gathering of believers, etc.
● The Micro Presence of God, which is the personal presence of God with every individual
God is present everywhere, even in your deepest, darkest period. God is there, He sees you, He sees everything; but you need to have His micro presence, His personal presence with you before you can enjoy the benefits of the presence of God. It doesn’t matter where you are in life, if God is with you, your expected end is sure.
Look at the story of Joseph in the Bible, in Genesis Chapter 39, he was sold into slavery to Egypt, but God was with him and he prospered, even as a slave. When the wife of his master conspired against him and he was sent to prison, God was with him there as well, and he prospered regardless.
Genesis 39:1-4, 20-23
1 “Now Joseph had been taken down to Egypt. And Potiphar, an officer of Pharaoh, captain of the guard, an Egyptian, bought him from the Ishmaelites who had taken him down there.
2 The Lord was with Joseph, and he was a successful man; and he was in the house of his master the Egyptian.
3 And his master saw that the Lord was with him and that the Lord made all he did to prosper in his hand.
4 So Joseph found favor in his sight, and served him. Then he made him overseer of his house, and all that he had he put under his authority.
20 Then Joseph’s master took him and put him into the prison, a place where the king’s prisoners were confined. And he was there in the prison.
21 But the Lord was with Joseph and showed him mercy, and He gave him favor in the sight of the keeper of the prison.
22 And the keeper of the prison committed to Joseph’s hand all the prisoners who were in the prison; whatever they did there, it was his doing.
23 The keeper of the prison did not look into anything that was under Joseph’s authority, because the Lord was with him; and whatever he did, the Lord made it prosper.
It is apparent that it’s not where you are but who is with you, and when God is with you, all is settled. The person of God brings His presence, and His presence brings His power. Albeit so, you can’t have the personal presence of God with you if you are not in a right standing with the person of God, that is, if you are not born again, or if your relationship with God is absent. Being born again is a prerequisite to having the presence of God. God does not dwell in sin; sin pollutes the presence of God, as seen in:
But your iniquities have made a separation between you and your God, and your sins have hidden his face from you so that he does not hear.
You see? Iniquities, sin, creates a separation between us and God, and when the presence of God is away from us, we can not enjoy the benefits of having His presence with us. You can not enjoy the presence without knowing and pleasing the person.
That is why you have to confess your sins, repent, accept the sacrifice of Christ on the cross, and be born again. Being born again means that you realise and acknowledge your sinfulness, understanding that you can’t save yourself by your works, believing that Christ paid the ultimate sacrifice for your sins by His death on the cross, and coming to the fullness of this reality by confessing your sins, giving your life to Christ, and accepting him as Lord and Savior, by faith in Him and Him alone.
I believe you didn’t come across this by accident, and this is an opportunity for you to give your life to Christ, so that you can connect to the power of the presence of God. If you want to, then please pray this prayer out loud:
“Father, I come to you in the name of Jesus. I realise now that I’m a sinner and acknowledge that I can’t save myself. I know that my sin has separated me from you, I know that Jesus died for me by shedding his blood that I might be saved. Today, I accept Jesus as my personal Lord and Saviour. I ask that you forgive all my sins. Wash me in your blood and make me whole. I forsake the devil, the world and a life of sin and sinful habits. I believe in my heart and confess with my mouth that Jesus is my Lord. Father, I thank you because you have saved me. In Jesus name I pray. Amen.”
That’s it! If you said this prayer, congratulations! You are welcome to the family of God, now you have access to His personal presence, and I assure you, you’ve never made a better decision nor taken a better step.
Congratulations once more! 💫💫💫💫
