HOW CAN WE KNOW THE WAY?

Dear Friend,
Do you know that speed is not the keyword for a man on the wrong road, neither is consistency the anchor for a man that does not know the way? Looking at the above statement, what the individual need is direction. There is nothing like being consistent on the wrong road. It will eventually lead to a waste of time and effort. You need change and direction. This was what one of the disciples of the Lord Jesus asked Him one day when He was telling them about going to prepare a place for them. Let’s look at what this man asked Jesus in John 14 verse 5 “Thomas saith unto him, Lord, we know not whither thou goest; and how can we know the way? This man called Thomas was a very practical person. His question revealed his practicality and quest not to miss it in life. He wanted to get it right, and he asked the right question.
Let’s look at this illustration as well. I am sure you have travelled before, even if not outside your country but within your country. When you got to the car park to get a vehicle going to your intended destination, did you just get to any vehicle available? The answer is NO! What did you do? You asked the question to find out where each vehicle in the park was going to, and you boarded the one with your intended destination.
If I may ask you, why didn’t you just enter into any of the vehicles at the park without asking, at least, it would take you somewhere? Yes! But that may not be your desired destination. The same is applicable when it comes to making Heaven. People might have told you before that it does not matter; whichever road you take, you will eventually get to Heaven. If not all vehicles at the car park can take you to your destination, why did you think all roads or whichever road you choose will take you to Heaven? Don’t be deceived; not all roads lead to Heaven! But there is a way, and it is the only way that guarantees eternity with God.
After the question of Thomas in John 14 verse 5. The same chapter in verse 6 “Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” Jesus is the only way to God. Does that make any other way possible? NO! He is the only way. Acts 4:12 says, “Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.” He is the only approved way to come to God.
Don’t allow religion or strange doctrine to keep you in the bondage of darkness forever, come out into the light of God. In Him was life, and that life was the light of men; the light shines in darkness, and darkness comprehends it not. When you come into Christ and accept Jesus as your Lord and personal Savior when you receive Him as the only approved way to God, the hold of darkness is broken off your life, and you will be free. Sin from that time will no longer have dominion over you.
I believe it is a good time to give your life to Jesus. If you are doing that now, pray this prayer:
Father, I come to you in the name of Jesus. I know that I’m a sinner and cannot save myself. But Jesus died for me; He shed His blood that I might be saved; today, I accept Jesus as my personal Lord and saviour, forgive me all my sins, wash me with your blood and make me whole. I forsake the devil, the world and all sinful habits. I believe with my heart and confess with my mouth that Jesus is my Lord. Father, I thank you because you have saved me in Jesus name. Amen.
