Four Enemies You Need to Conquer Daily
Dearly Beloved of God,
Proverbs 22:29 “Seest thou a man diligent in his business? He shall stand before kings; he shall not stand before mean men.”
2 Peter 1:10 “Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall.”
Today, let me show you four enemies that you have to conquer on a daily basis in your life if you must fulfil your destiny on the earth.
1. YOU MUST CONQUER LAZINESS ON A DAILY BASIS. This is relaxing when you are supposed to be engaged in a useful purpose. Don’t spare yourself in the calling. When you spare yourself, you reduce what can manifest in your future. Go as far as you can go. In fact, until you stretch yourself, you will not know the limit to which you can accomplish things. Don’t be lazy, stretch yourself.
2. YOU MUST CONQUER PROCRASTINATION DAILY. This is putting off things that should be done now until later.
3. YOU MUST CONQUER DISTRACTIONS DAILY. Distraction is the time filtered away on side issues to the detriment of the main issue. You have to be able to separate daily, the main issue of your calling from other things. Are you seeking the applause of men or the approval of God? What exactly is your motivation? What is your goal? What are the things driving you in life? For instance, the purpose of a minister of the gospel is to meet the needs of people, supply understanding, and fulfil his assignment, not to seek to please men. Sometimes, men don’t appreciate what a man of God is doing, but he must continue with his ministry. You don’t do things because people appreciate it, you do things because they are right. God blesses what is right, not what is popular!
4. Finally, YOU MUST CONQUER IMPATIENCE DAILY. This refers to the lack of preparation and thoroughness that result in time-consuming mistakes.
Every day, you have to conquer these four things if you are going to do the duties of your calling and walk in the full measure of your calling. Many people carry a call which is worth more than what they are manifesting. God can do a lot, but not through anybody. He needs men that are hard working. God supplies a calling and an election, but you must supply the diligence to make your calling and election sure. Diligence is doing the required work by commitment, not because you feel good about it. For example, you are not going to be a successful woman if you only function as a mother when you feel good and excited about it. Sometimes, you are not excited at your children, but you still keep on being a mother to them simply because of commitment. The same applies to your career, you are not going to be successful there if you only operate by feeling and excitement and you only do things that are right occasionally.
If you are going to be successful, you are going to do daily what others do occasionally. Successful people do daily what others do occasionally. Successful people do by discipline what others do by feeling. Successful people do by commitment what others do by excitement.
